Updates from the Seed 4 Life

June 6, 2012 by Rick

Donna and I have been in much prayer since the beginning of 2012 about moving back to Indiana. It appears that the Lord’s direction is now clear to us. He has been preparing our hearts since last November. We are making plans to move near the end of 2012.

In January of this year Donna and I became familiar with to a discipleship ministry that focuses on men between the ages of 18-25. As we were visiting there, the Lord told us that a very similar expression was within us. At first, we assumed the new phase of ministry would be done in western Kentucky, where we currently live and work in a teaching ministry. After a month or so of prayer and discussion, we realized the vision wasn’t to be done here. That was an emotional 30 days.

Discipleship was a big encouragement for Donna and I to accept the opportunity change careers, and focus full-time on ministry more than five years ago. Now we both see a way that many of my previous 26-years of business experiences, and the desire to disciple add up to the next step the Lord desires for our lives. We have sought much wise counsel this spring, which quickly challenged us to write out our mission and vision.

Many of the details have yet to be fully revealed by the Lord, but we continue to trust Him for all future plans. We are in the legal process of setting up the corporation, and applying for a nonprofit status. The name of the ministry has been approved. It is “Seed 4 Life”, and we are now praying about whom to ask to be on the board.

We do not have a place or the means yet to set up our lives and the ministry when we return home to southern Indiana. But, we are praying and trusting Jesus to bring this next step in ministry to come about.
